He thought He Was Rescuing One Kitten From The Side Of The Road, Only To Turn And Find She Was Just A Scout! (video)

A KIND-HEARTED MAN THOUGHT HE WAS STOPPING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO SAVE ONE KITTEN WHEN IT TURNS OUT SHE WAS PROBABLY JUST THE SCOUT!

Army veteran Robert Brantley was driving down a road one day when he saw a lone kitten standing on the side of the road. His heart melted at the sight so Robert pulled over and walked toward the lone feline who immediately began meowing her heart out!

As soon as the kitten saw Robert meant no harm she ran toward him only to be followed in seconds by a whole clowder of brothers and sisters who had been hiding out under cover! It turns out the first kitten had been a scout for her siblings who were clearly her platoon.

“Left work to go to the range. Passed a baby kitten I knew wouldn’t make it through the night, and the wife has been wanting a cat for the farm; figured I’d stop and rescue the thing,” he posted on Facebook.

Poor Robert who was expecting to rescue just one kitten was more than a little overwhelmed by what he was videoing. Everywhere he looked was a sea of kittens bounding out of bushes and onto the road!

“Oh my gosh, there’s more! We got a kitten problem,” says Robert. “Oh my gosh, who would do this? I thought I was saving one. Hot diggity dog.”

“I backed up to get a short clip and got ambushed by the mob. Anyone wanting a kitten at a screaming price? I’ll cut you a deal!” he continued.

Just two days after posting the video on Facebook and Instagram it had racked up over 5.1 million views!

“Those kittens played you so hard,” commented one person on Instagram. “No lie!” replied Brantley. “That was perfect timing. They used the one as bait! “Ok, now go! He won’t be able to resist!” “They had a strategy. I gotta respect that!” said Robert.

A second video shows the slightly unwilling rescuer had managed to get all 13 kittens into his car. These kittens were clearly comfortable with humans so they may have been dumped. Thankfully, this made the whole rescue process easier for Robert.

“I couldn’t keep up with them as I would throw one in and 2 would jump out. So I had to close the door with the window down and funnel ’em in. That would have been good footage, actually. As soon as I got home, got them out!” Robert said.

“Thank you to all those offering to help. Working on getting them all a good home! The kids are loving on them in the meantime and we’re fattening them up!”

A third video shows Roberts’s kids riding in a cart with some of the kittens. “Just a wagon full of kittens and babies,” someone says.

Then, in another update, we see Robert giving the kittens a bath in the kids wading pool.

“Thank you to all that reached out to give advice and help with supplies. Y’all are as much of a part of this as us! The kittens are doing great and are enjoying the warm breeze as they dry off. We’ve got some more things planned for these babies so stay tuned. I’m still learning a lot of this so go easy on me,” he says.
