COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED, JUST SKIN AND BONES, IT LOOKED AS THOUGH SHE HAD WALKED AND WALKED UNTIL SHE COULD NOT WALK ANY LONGER AND CHOSE THIS DRIVEWAY AS HER FINAL DESTINATION.
She clearly had good judgment because the owners of this driveway not only saw her, they went one step closer and took her in.
“She was underweight and had a congested nose. One of her eyes was almost completely closed by an infection with discharge,” the family shared online.
“We decided to take her in and care for her until she got better.”
At least that was the initial plan! After giving her the name Sweetie they thought they would find her a loving home once she had recovered.
Initially, the exhausted kitten was wiped out on her paws! She had no energy to speak of and was content to find any lap available to catch up on much-needed sleep.
“I found out that she had an upper respiratory infection. She was very cooperative with us when it came to treating her,” Precious her rescuer said.
“We bought her a dropper and gave her formula that way, and she really liked it.”
So over the next couple of days, Sweetie was syringe-fed and given all the love she could handle.
Day by day she gradually improved, until her eyes and nose had cleared as her upper respiratory infection was cured and she began to gain weight.
“Within a few weeks she finally got better. It took her awhile to switch between kitten milk to wet and solid food,” said Precious.
Sweetie went from a kitten out on her paws to one who had found them. As she did so a once hidden personality came to the fore. It was around this time she met Mickey, the resident cat who was highly interested in meeting her.
“When she started interacting with Mickey, she picked up some of his habits.”
Like him, she transformed into a voracious eater, following him around and getting up to all sorts of mischief.
“Mickey used to be the one who started the play-fights. Now she does most of the time.”
In time no time at all the outgoing mischief make and snuck into her adoptive family’s hearts. “Whenever she finishes playing, she’ll come to sleep on me and it’s comforting,” Precious told the Kitten Cat Post.
“Our initial plan was to keep her temporarily until she recovered, but we fell in love with her, so now she’s part of the family.”
The transformation of Sweetie has been incredible to see. The once worn-out kitten has transformed into a glorious minature black panther.
One who sticks like glue to her new partner in crime Mickey.
Not only did this tiny kitten know where to go, she knew where to thrive.
In the process landing on all four paws.
