Minnie and her mother Peggy Kern decided to take a walk around the neighborhood one day like they always do. Everything seemed to be going along properly at first, but as time went on, Kern noticed that people were gazing and pointing at them more frequently than usual.
Kern is aware of Minnie’s cuteness, so she assumes that other people would find her endearing as well. However, this was on a whole different level, and Kern was baffled as to why. According to Kern in an interview with The Dodo, “I had my headphones on and was listening to an audiobook, so I wasn’t sure what was going on and why people were gazing at us more than usual.” After a while, Minnie turned to look at her mother, and at that moment Kern burst out laughing.
After a bit of strolling, Minnie stumbled over a pacifier that was lying on the ground. She took it up and made the decision to take it with her. It’s reasonable given the circumstances that many were captivated by what looked to be a dog sucking on a pacifier when they passed her by.
“Everything made perfect sense,” said Kern. Kern and Minnie continued their stroll after figuring out the riddle’s solution. Minnie’s mother gave her the pacifier to keep because she loved it so much, but after a while, she became excessively excited and started damaging it.
Kern had to grab it away from her once she eventually chewed it and break a piece off in order to save her from ingesting anything. Kern’s stroll that day was made more enjoyable by Minnie, who also made everyone she saw along the road smile. Kern had assumed it would be a simple stroll.
